Bring a Book
Students should bring a book from home to read over the next couple of weeks. All of our library books have been turned in to the library so that our librarian can do her inventory.
Diagnostic Testing
This week we will be taking our final Language Arts and Math district diagnostic tests for the year. Please be sure to be here on time every day!
The Emperor's New Clothes
This year's performance of The Emperor's New Clothes was fabulous! Parents, thank you so much for your support and for coming to see the show. The children had a wonderful time and really enjoyed showing their hard work to their families and to the rest of the school.
Accelerated Reader
Congratulations to those of you who made your AR goals this trimester: Alex, Jeremiah, Brandon, Matthew, Ryan, Josh, Oscar, Justin, Celine, Nicholas, Valeria, Makenna, Rihanna, Jake, Aden, Lukas, Sebastian, Mia, Genesis, and Alan!
Science Fair Projects
Wow! I was really impressed with the science fair projects and oral reports. I can see how much you learned about the scientific process and about your particular area of interest. Who knew you could pick up an ice cube with salt on a string? Who knew that Viva paper towels absorbed more liquid than Sparkle or Bounty brands? So many interesting projects!
Special Events for the Week of June 8-12
You won't want to miss any of the last week of school--we have many special events planned. Mornings are academics as usual--we learn up until the very last day! Each afternoon there is a different activity:
Monday, June 8 Board Game Day
Students may bring a board game from home. Be sure your game is labeled with your name, and that you have permission to bring it!! We will also have a snack.
Tuesday, June 9 Read 'n' Relax
Students may bring books from home, along with a blanket or sleeping bag and a pillow. We will also have a snack.
Wednesday, June 10 Popcorn and a Movie
We will show a G-rated movie in the afternoon. I have several here in class. If you have a favorite, you may bring it to school. We will have time for one or two movies, which the class will vote on. If you bring a movie, it must be G-rated and a DVD. I do not have equipment for Blue-Ray.
Thursday, June 11 PTA Games Day
The PTA has fun games planned for us.
Friday, June 12 Last day of school.
Dismissal is at 1:30. On this day we will have our own class awards, which is always lots of fun. Everyone gets a special award from Mrs. Quitt.
