I hope everyone has a wonderful time during Fall Break--I know I sure did! I was lucky enough to spend the week on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica at a tiny inn outside the small town of Cahuita. I spent the week riding horses on the beach, hiking in the rainforest, watching monkeys, sloths, birds, butterflies, iguanas, and much more wildlife, practicing Spanish, and hanging about in a hammock in a pretty garden--aaaah, the Caribbean lifestyle is SO relaxing. I visited the Jaguar Rescue Center, where I was able to pet and hold some baby howler monkeys. I went to an organic farm, where I sampled lots of different tropical fruits that I had never seen before. Oh my goodness, what a wonderful week.
Now it's time for all of us to get right back into the swing of things here at school. In Social Studies we will be studying all about our country's government, learning about the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. We will continue learning about main idea and details in both informational and literary texts. In math, we have moved on to Unit 2, Adding within 200.
Please be sure that you are able to access Math Facts in a Flash, as that will be part of our homework this Thursday. Let me know if you are still having difficulty with this.
